Cassidy and Evan came to me by way of another client, and I’ve really enjoyed working with them so far! They are a fun and happy couple living in California, but will be returning to their home state of Florida for their wedding this spring.

They were only in town for a couple days when I met up with them for their engagement session, and I’m so glad we had time to fit it in between their holiday festivities and wedding planning activities! We had a great time eating lunch at one of my favorite spots, ROK:BRGR, not to mention, traipsing all over the Riverfront area in downtown Fort Lauderdale. It was a beautiful day!

I was so thrilled when Ashley and Ryan booked their wedding with me! Not only did they seem like a fun couple, but I went to high school with Ryan’s sister Carianne and it’s always an awesome feeling to be referred to someone by a friend. Ashley and Ryan and I communicated for months via e-mail and even had a video meeting on Skype, since they no longer live in the South Florida area. I was counting down the days to meet them and I really had a great time on their engagement session, which we photographed at Cypress Park and Ochid Park which are right next door to one another in Coral Springs. After getting to spend some time with them, I am even more looking forward to their wedding next spring. I know it’s going to be a super fun time!

For their engagement shoot we decided to do a few different clothing looks. Since the parks we shot at are right next door to one another it was easy to get all of these shots in our time schedule Plus, Ashley and Ryan had so many great ideas including bringing a soccer ball and their respective College Football jerseys. By the way, GO GATORS! :)

I’m so happy that I got to shoot Nikki & Raul’s engagement photos! They are a super loving, happy couple and I am stoked to photograph their wedding this summer! We did their session at the amazing Hugh Taylor Birch State Park in Ft. Lauderdale.

This was a great engagement shoot! Not only was I thrilled to have gotten to know Raul better, since I already know Nikki (she’s an amazing hair stylist/colorist who has been doing my hair for over a year now), the session was incredibly useful in regards to learning about the kinds of photos that Nikki & Raul like to have taken. This is one of the best reasons to take your engagement photos and why I even offer it complimentary in my two biggest packages! Without the engagement shoot, I’d never have learned that Nikki’s favorite types of photos are the cheek-to-cheek, snuggly ones.

On the wedding day, the opportunity to spontaneously discuss the kinds of images that you like may be forgotten due to the stress of the busy day – but shooting engagement portraits in a relaxed setting allows for a different thought process. So, not only was I able to get plenty of snuggly photos for Nikki & Raul, but I look forward to capturing images in a similar style for them on their wedding day this summer!

I had a great time with Cindy and Jeff, who asked me to take some portraits of them on the occasion of their second anniversary. I enjoyed spending time with them as we roamed the beach and talked. They’re both artists and love animals – so we got along great. I photographed their shoot at the beautiful John U. Lloyd Beach State Park in Dania Beach. There wasn’t too much sun that day, but the cloud cover provided a gorgeous soft light to take some romantic images.

I had a blast shooting Sabrina and Sean’s Delray Beach engagement session at the amazing Colony Cabaña Club right on the beach! This vibrant, adorable couple is getting married this fall, and I couldn’t be more excited to photograph their wedding at Delray’s Old School Square. I am really thrilled about the images that I captured during their engagement shoot as the Cabaña Club is a gorgeous backdrop and has a spectacular beach and beautiful light.

Sabrina & Sean, I can’t wait to see you again this fall and capture your wedding day! I’ll have the rest of your gallery up for you soon! :)

Vivian contacted me about doing a Beloved session with her new husband Mo on the occasion of their marriage. While they chose to have a very private ceremony with just their immediate family, they did want some portraits taken at their home in the Ft. Lauderdale area to capture the emotion of the day to have some images to look back on and remember the rush of happiness and love as they joined their lives together officially.

I’m thrilled that I was able to photograph this session for them. I loved the idea of shooting at their home, a more intimate setting, and scheduling their portraits on their actual wedding day was very meaningful for them.

Kirenia & Matt are a fun couple who live in South Beach and love coming to Lincoln Road with their 1-year-old daughter. I love shooting engagement sessions that are personal to the couple, so it was great to hang out with them, visit their favorite spot (Sushi Samba, who were nice enough to let us take some photos inside) and walk all over South Beach. Their adorable little girl even jumped in for a few pictures!

Kirenia and Matt are the gorgeous bride and groom that I photographed last month with the red & black wedding day outfits (look back a few posts in my blog if you missed my preview shots), and you can see that style and charm comes naturally to them. I can’t wait to finish editing their wedding pictures too so you can see how much fun everyone had!

When the time came to do Jessica & Ron’s engagement session in beautiful Delray Beach, I was very excited, as I’d been chatting with Jessica for what seemed like half a year planning her and Ron’s shoot! We were Facebook friends and kept in touch going over the details until the time came to schedule a date.

Of course in true Florida fashion, on the day we chose, the heavens opened up and there was a HUGE downpour! I drove up to Delray Beach that day not really knowing what to expect as far as weather was concerned. My schedule has gotten really packed and I knew we needed to do the shoot in September to have the images ready in time for their destination wedding out in the Caribbean, this fall. I checked Weather Underground and decided to proceed, hoping that the forecast of rain clearing up was correct. We had to wait it out a bit, but it ended up being a perfect afternoon, with beautiful, saturated colors thanks to the rain.

Jessica and Ron were a lot of fun to work with, and they were my favorite kind of couple – the kind who is fun-loving and creative and comes to the shoot with ideas of their own! They even brought additions to their wardrobe to vary things up a bit. We had a great time hitting their favorite spots in Delray like Big Al’s Steaks (ok, one of Ron’s favorite spots, at least – a homage to his hometown of Philly) and stopped by Cupcake Couture to satisfy our sweet tooth!

Nicole and I have known each other for about five years now, so I was incredibly excited when she told me that she and her new fiance Scott wanted to hire me to photograph their wedding day! They love living nearby the beach, so they decided to do their engagement session on and around Las Olas Blvd in Fort Lauderdale and on beautiful Fort Lauderdale Beach, since the area is so much a part of who they are and what they love to do together.

It’s so much fun to photograph my friends because I get to be even MORE silly with them while we’re shooting! We got so many amazing shots, I had such a blast photographing these two. I’m really looking forward to photographing their wedding this fall!

Today I’d like to announce another new product I’m going to be offering. Not so much of a product but a different type of session. It’s something that began for me as a journey in my photography when I attended an amazing workshop by one of my favorite artists, Jesh de Rox, a year and a half ago. Slowly I’ve begun implementing the incredible techniques I learned into my engagement sessions….

Then, at the recent WPPI Convention, I had the opportunity to see Jesh speak again, this time about his incredible photographic movement called “BELOVED” ~ an expansion of his amazing engagement and couples session techniques that I learned about at the first workshop I attended. These techniques are something I’ve already put into practice – and as many of my recent engagement couples will attest to, I’ve enjoyed adding this bit of something “special” to my recent engagement sessions. That something “special” has become my favorite part of shooting the session and with Beloved, it BECOMES the session.

BELOVED is about… Remembering why you fell in love. Letting those feelings resonate within you. Rediscovering what you have to offer one another. Finding the beauty inside each of you.

BELOVED is for couples. Engaged couples. Married couples. Together couples. Any couples. Couples who have been together for five months… or five years… or fifty years. Couples in love. It doesn’t matter how long, it just matters that you want to capture your selves, your love, and the beauty contained inside that love.

All of that in a photo shoot? Really? Yes. This is what BELOVED is about. Everyone deserves to take the time to save these details. These intricacies.
