Who will be my photographer? How many people will be there during my shoot?
I am the only photographer, and unless we discuss otherwise, and only with your permission, a female assistant may be present to assist with lighting.
What is your boudoir shooting style?
My goal with boudoir is to highlight each woman’s sexiness, softness, and femininity. I focus a lot on eyes and facial expressions because I feel that these are extremely important ways of communicating feelings and desires. Don’t worry – we also get a lot of fun shots too! Boudoir can be an intimate, yet fun way to show your love for someone special – or just for yourself!
How much should I expect to spend?
Please contact me for a full pricing list. The session fee is $350 which includes the photographer’s time and talent shooting and fully editing your images. If you are located further than 25 miles from ZIP 33321, a $50 travel fee applies. As for your image investment, you can spend as little as $350 (the minimum order requirement) or as much as $2,500, depending on the Image Collection you choose, but most of my clients spend between $700 to $1,700 on their session. In addition to the session fee and your Image Collection, you may also want to purchase additional lingerie or accessories for the session, or book a makeup artist and a hotel room to shoot in, and add additional prints or files to your collection. These will all increase your investment.
Why do you require a minimum order? What can I purchase for $350?
I require a minimum order because your images are important – you will look back on them for years to come, and you deserve to have much more than one or two 8×10′s and a bunch of low resolution pictures! Think about all the time that you will spend preparing for the session. It’s great to be able to enjoy the images in your home after it’s all over. So, to fulfill the order requirement, you can purchase a) an 8×8 coffee table book (which is $450) b) a mounted 16×20 or 16×24 fine art print (which is $400) c) one mounted 11×14 fine art print, one 8×10 print, & one 5×7 print (which is $360). These are just a few ideas – if you are on a budget, please let me know what your “cut off” is and we can tailor a package just for you!
Do I need to hire a makeup artist or hair stylist?
It’s not required, but hiring a professional to do your makeup and possibly your hair will have an amazing effect on your images! A professional make up artist or hair stylist works with “on camera” situations regularly and know what kind of makeup application or hair style will work best with the camera. I am happy to recommend a makeup artist, hair stylist or both who can come to help you look your best before the session.
Do you retouch the images? What kind of retouching is included? What is not?
I do very minor retouching on proofs, and for all ordered and printed images, I will perform blemish removal, skin smoothing and very MINOR “liquifying” certain body parts if needed. What’s NOT included is the removal of tan lines, extensive tattoos, and dental braces and major digital lipo. Other types of retouching may fall into the “not included” category, so if you’re not sure, please ask. This type of retouching can be extremely time consuming and will require a fee of $15 to $35 per image on average depending on how extensive the work is that needs to be done.
Where should we shoot?
I have photographed boudoir sessions in all types of rooms, and while some may be harder to work in than others, anything is possible (though some may be a challenge!) :) Ultimately, the best type of room is a larger hotel room with lots of natural light and lots of space to move around and utilize the area. Hotels like the W Hotel or the Hilton Marina in Ft. Lauderdale are two great options. Alternatively, if you have a beautiful home or a friend with a great space, I’m happy to shoot there as well, but please take into consideration the lighting conditions – a room that lets in natural light is preferable for these types of sessions.
Can I purchase digital files from my session?
Absolutely! You can purchase the entire set, or purchase a package that includes a selection of files, prints, or an album. No matter which way you choose, you’ll always receive a set of low-res watermarked proof files so that you can review your images again or sneak them on to your guy’s phone! :)
Can I bring a friend for support?
Definitely! I wouldn’t suggest bringing your mom, but bringing a good friend or your sister is great – she can help you with your makeup, outfit selections, and just be there for moral support and cheer you on!
I have a friend who wants to do a session, too. Do you have packages for that?
Doing a boudoir session with a friend is not only a great way to split the hotel costs, but it’s a great way for two good friends to share a fun experience and keep each other upbeat during the session! If you want to bring a friend, each of you will get $100 off of your session fee. Good deal!
Will I be able to specify how the images are used?
YES! All boudoir clients specify how they allow images that show their face to be used. Each client signs a release that allows me to use (or not use) images showing their face. Furthermore, I never use real names or full names. Your private online gallery is password protected, as well, and only you will know the password unless you share it with others.
How soon will I see my images?
About four weeks following your session, you’ll receive your online gallery & slideshow so that you can view your images and place your order for any prints, products, or files that you’d like to purchase.
I’m doing a boudoir session as a gift. When should I schedule it?
I recommend scheduling your session between 2 to 3 months before you need the images due to the availability of some products, such as albums or mounting. If you need the images quicker, please note that SOME albums take longer to order and if you choose those types, they may not arrive when you need them. I am happy to advise you on shipping times.
I’m ready to book a session! How do I proceed?
The first step is to get in touch! Let me know that you’d like to book your session, and I’ll get in touch with you by phone or email to discuss the particulars. Payment of the session fee ($350) is due along with the contract in order to reserve your session date. I’ll set up everything for you in my online booking system, and once you complete the electronic paperwork, we’re good to go! Click here to contact me and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Make sure you let me know what is the best way to reach you so I can get back to you as soon as possible.
