Who will be my photographer? How many people will be there during my shoot?
I am the only photographer, and unless we discuss otherwise, and only with your permission, a female assistant may be present to assist with lighting.
What is your boudoir shooting style?
My goal with boudoir is to highlight each woman’s sexiness, softness, and femininity. I focus a lot on eyes and facial expressions because I feel that these are extremely important ways of communicating feelings and desires. Don’t worry – we also get a lot of fun shots too! Boudoir can be an intimate, yet fun way to show your love for someone special – or just for yourself!
How much should I expect to spend?
Please contact me for a full pricing list. My packages start at $950 and include your session along with a basic album, prints, and slideshow. Most of my clients, however, choose to spend up to $3,000 by purchasing additional images, upgrading their album, or adding an order of high-resolution files. In addition to the session fee, you may also want to purchase additional lingerie or accessories for the session, or book a makeup artist and a hotel room to shoot in, and add additional prints or files to your collection. These will all increase your investment.
Do I need to hire a makeup artist or hair stylist?
It’s not required, but hiring a professional to do your makeup and hair will have an amazing effect on your images! I do include hair and makeup with the purchase of my highest package. A professional make up artist or hair stylist works with “on camera” situations regularly and know what kind of makeup application or hair style will work best with the camera. I am happy to recommend a makeup artist, hair stylist or both who can come to help you look your best before the session.
Do you retouch the images? What kind of retouching is included? What is not?
I do very minor retouching on proofs, and for all ordered and printed images, I will perform blemish removal, skin smoothing and very MINOR “liquifying” certain body parts if needed. What’s NOT included is the removal of tan lines, extensive tattoos, and dental braces and major digital lipo. Other types of retouching may fall into the “not included” category, so if you’re not sure, please ask. This type of retouching can be extremely time consuming and will require a fee of $15 to $35 per image on average depending on how extensive the work is that needs to be done.
Where should we shoot?
My shooting area is Broward County, FL, and a travel fee will apply for clients whose sessions take place outside of my shooting area.
I have photographed boudoir sessions in all types of rooms, and anything is possible (though some may be a challenge!) :) Ultimately, the best type of room is a larger hotel room with lots of natural light and lots of space to move around and utilize the area.
Hotels like the W Hotel (my favorite), or the Hilton Marina in Ft. Lauderdale are two great options. Alternatively, if you have a beautiful home or a friend with a great space, I’m happy to shoot there as well, but please take into consideration the lighting conditions – a room that lets in natural light is preferable for these types of sessions. I also prefer to shoot in the morning to maximize the amount of natural light.
Can I purchase digital files from my session?
Absolutely, a disc of your final session images is available for $950 after you have purchased any of my packages. You can purchase the entire set of files or just a few favorites. No matter which way you choose, you’ll always receive a set of low-res watermarked proof files of the images you’ve ordered so that you can review your images again or sneak them on to your guy’s phone! :)
Can I bring a friend for support?
Definitely! I wouldn’t suggest bringing your mom, but bringing a good friend or your sister is great – she can help you with your makeup, outfit selections, and just be there for moral support and cheer you on! Please be aware, however, that the boudoir shoot is a woman-only area. Please do not bring your husband or boyfriend. They will be asked to wait outside.
I have a friend who wants to do a session, too. Do you have packages for that?
Doing a boudoir session with a friend is not only a great way to split the hotel costs, but it’s a great way for two good friends to share a fun experience and keep each other upbeat during the session! If you want to bring a friend, each of you will get $100 off of your package. Good deal!
Will I be able to specify how the images are used?
YES! While I do reserve the right to use “non-identifying images” that do not show your face (example: images taken from behind, photos of legs), you will have 100% control over photos showing your face. Each client signs a release that allows me to use (or NOT use) images showing their face. Furthermore, I never use real names or full names. Your private online gallery is password protected, as well, and only you will know the password unless you share it with others.
How soon will I see my images?
About four weeks following your session, you’ll receive your online gallery & slideshow so that you can view your images and place your order for any prints, products, or files that you’d like to purchase. In peak times editing may take a little bit longer.
I’m doing a boudoir session as a gift. When should I schedule it?
I recommend scheduling your session between 2 to 3 months before you need the images due to the availability of some products, such as albums or mounting. We are not a “photo mill” so products are not kept in stock. If you need the images quicker, please note that SOME albums take longer to order and if you choose those types, they may not arrive when you need them. I am happy to advise you on shipping times. Rush orders may be placed subject to the vendor’s availability schedule.
I’m ready to book a session! How do I proceed?
The first step is to get in touch! Let me know that you’d like to book your session, and I’ll get in touch with you by phone or email to discuss the particulars. Payment of a retainer ($500) is due along with the contract in order to reserve your session date, and your final balance must be paid completely by the two week mark before your shoot. I’ll set up everything for you in my online booking system, and once you complete the electronic paperwork, we’re good to go! Click here to contact me and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Make sure you let me know what is the best way to reach you so I can get back to you as soon as possible.
