What is the best way to get in touch with you?
You can give me a call at 954.247.1121 or click here for my contact form. I try to return calls and emails within 2 business days. Please note that unless I have a client with an emergency, I typically do not answer work email or return voicemails on the weekend. I appreciate your understanding! :)
What does a Lifestyle photographer do?
Lifestyle photography is hard to define, but I love to capture people doing real things and sharing real emotions – happy, sad, or in between. Children just being children, in the middle of an introspective moment. The newness of a new baby. Expectant parents sharing closeness. A woman doing a boudoir session and letting her inhibitions melt away! A couple in love, allowing themselves to be absorbed in their emotions.
How much should I expect to spend?
Please contact me for a full price list. The session fee is $300 which includes the photographer’s time and talent shooting and fully editing your images. If you are located further than 25 miles from ZIP 33321, a $50 travel fee applies. As for your image investment, you can spend as little as $350 (the minimum order requirement) or well over $4,000, depending on the Image Collection you choose, but most of my clients spend between $800 to $2,000 on their session. You may also choose to purchase additional high-res files, prints, holiday cards, or albums, which will increase your investment.
Why do you require a minimum order? What can I purchase for $350?
I require a minimum order because your images are important – you will look back on them for years to come, and you deserve to have much more than one or two 8×10′s and a bunch of low resolution pictures that the photographer has uploaded to Facebook! Think about all the time that you will spend preparing for the session. It’s great to be able to enjoy the images in your home after it’s all over. So, to fulfill the order requirement, you can purchase a) an 8×8 coffee table book (which is $450) b) a mounted 16×20 or 16×24 fine art print (which is $400) c) two 8×10 prints, two sets of wallets, and one 10×20 storyboard (which is $350). These are just a few ideas – if you are on a budget, please let me know what your “cut off” is and we can tailor a package just for you!
Where should we shoot?
There are a variety of beautiful parks, nature preserves, beaches, and urban areas within my 25 mile shooting radius, and I’m happy to give you suggestions based on the places I’ve photographed and loved! I’ll be able to tell you when the lighting is best for each location so that we can get the best shots.
If you are reserving me for a newborn session (or a very young baby), those are typically done at the family’s home.
Do I need to have my hair and makeup done?
No, not usually… but some ladies like to have their hair blown out or lightly styled for their session, especially if it’s a couples session. It’s all personal preference. If you’d like to have makeup done I can recommend someone, too.
Do you retouch the images? What kind of retouching is included? What is not?
I do very minor retouching on proofs, and for all ordered and printed images, I will perform blemish removal, skin smoothing and “liquifying” certain body parts if needed. What’s NOT included is the removal of tan lines, extensive tattoos, excessive acne, and dental braces. Other types of retouching may fall into the “not included” category, so if you’re not sure, please ask. This type of retouching can be extremely time consuming and will require a fee of $15 to $35 per image on average depending on how extensive the work is that needs to be done.
Can I purchase digital files from my session?
Absolutely! You can purchase the entire set, or purchase a package that includes a selection of files, prints, or an album. No matter which way you choose, you’ll always receive a set of low-res watermarked proof files so that you can review your images again or load them on to your iPhone to share with others!
How soon will I see my images?
Your ordering session will be set for about 4 weeks following your session. You’ll come to my residential gallery to view your images and place your order for any prints, products, or files that you’d like to purchase. Please make sure you find a sitter for your kids for the ordering session since you’ll definitely want to use your time to focus on your images and not on keeping your little ones entertained. You will receive a discount for any prints you order at this time.
I’m ready to book a session! How do I proceed?
The first step is to get in touch! Let me know that you’d like to book your session, and I’ll get in touch with you by phone or email to discuss the particulars. Payment of the session fee ($400) is due along with the contract in order to reserve your session date. I’ll set up everything for you in my online booking system, and once you complete the electronic paperwork, we’re good to go! Click here to contact me and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Make sure you let me know what is the best way to reach you so I can get back to you as soon as possible.
