I taught two classes here in the Atlanta area in the Spring of 2018 benefitting Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School's yoga program. Thank you to Grey Owl Mind-Body Studio and to Out of the Box Yoga for donating your time and studio space to this cause!
Our beautiful class at Grey Owl Mind-Body Studio
As a graduate of MSD's rival school, JP Taravella High School, I grew up with people who attended Stoneman Douglas and currently have several friends who teach at the school and friends whose children attend the school. As soon as I found out about the tragedy of February 14, 2018, I knew that I wanted to do something to help.
Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School's wonderful fitness education program includes yoga, which helps students to release tension and quiet the mind. Studies have shown that yoga is a useful tool for healing.
This program is run by an amazing teacher, Amy Kleinman Kenny, who has been sharing her gift and her strength with the MSD students to help them find a sense of peace. After the events that took place on the afternoon of February 14th, the school needs her program now more than ever to continue teaching love, meditation, and mindfulness.
Your participation in this class & donation to MSD Yoga has brought love, light, and strength into the lives of the children of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School as they return to their classes after an unthinkable tragedy. Funds will go to assist the yoga program with supply needs, go towards a teacher training scholarship fund, and provide assistance for the families of Amy's yoga students who were personally affected by this horrific tragedy. Let's come together with intention for Hope and Healing for the brave Eagles of MSD. Together, we will soar.
